Organising an event such as this requires a huge effort and at Marlborough Lines Classic Fighters, most of this is down to the volunteers. All money raised by the air show goes towards improving and expanding the Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre.
The event draws on a range of expertise with something pretty much suited to everyone. Some jobs, such as building props for the ground theatre, start months ahead, while others might be for a few hours on the day.
Whether you are interested in helping to direct traffic, installing temporary fences or selling programmes, we have a job waiting for you.
Please complete this online form to register your interest in volunteering at Classic Fighters 2025. Please include any special skills or job preferences you may have. We will get back to you and make sure you are partnered up with the right group looking for an extra hand.
Alternatively, you may wish to contact us by emailing classicfighters@omaka.org.nz.
All offers or enquiries are most welcome. Thank you.
Media from around the country will be converging on Omaka for the spectacular Classic Fighters Airshow. If you are one of them, apply now for special media privileges.
The team are ensuring there are reserved media platforms, special briefings, and privileged access, but passes are strictly limited.
Classic Fighters is internationally renowned for its spectacular ground theatre, with highly innovative battle scenarios combining re-enactors, military vehicles and pyrotechnics, all supporting the aircraft display above. If you would like to be one of the Classic Fighters 2025 re-enactors or if you have weapons or military vehicles that you would like to contribute, then please download a Classic Fighters Ground Theatre application form.
We require that everyone participating in the ground theatre re-enactments holds Public Liability Insurance or be affiliated to a group that does. Every individual re-enactor will be required to fill out a form and carry confirmation of registration.
